Vmware workstation keyboard not working

So, I'm trying to execute a photo of my physical lapheight (Lenovo T530, Win7x64-Enterprise), making use of VMWare Workterminal 8. The picture was created without any type of issues, and boots up fine right into the login display screen. The mouse functions, but I can not acquire it to acknowledge any kind of input from my keyboards, either the built-in laptop keyboard or the attached USB key-board. It just doesn't register. I have actually installed the intensified virtual driver, messed roughly via the VM BIOS settings, played via the USB Controller settings ... no impact. The odd point is that both key-boards job-related in the BIOS, additionally job-related once hitting F8 ... simply disappear as soon as the OS comes up complete. Anyone have actually any kind of ideas? Google searches all day have actually been usemuch less.

Correct term is; you have converted physical to digital with Workterminal. Or simply P2V.

And sounds prefer you did your troubleshooting already, it sounds choose some kind of unique software program in OS leading to conflicts. Try safe mode and uninstall anything Lenovo related and additionally anything key-board connected. If safe mode doesnt occupational, then uninstall from physical and also another P2V aobtain.

Man ... I've done a fresh P2V with all services except MS stuff disabled, rerelocated all USB and HiD Devices, also got in the VM BIOS and monkeyed around. No luck. The just point that I attach at power on is the CD drive and network adapter. It's bumming me out!

So, I try booting into Safe Setting and simply get back to the login screen. The machine is a member of a doprimary, so it's going ago to the login web page prior to letting me obtain into safe mode. Gonna shot simply to command prompts and also check out if that gets me all over.

Sounds favor a keyboard filter driver was installed on the physical lapoptimal and also is screwing with input on the virtualized system by eating it because it can't uncover the actual hardware it provided to be attached to.

Try RDP-ing in and uninstalling a lot of if not all Lenovo-particular chauffeurs (they shouldn't be forced anymore, what with the hardware being virtualized and also not Lenovo.)

I just ran right into this concern last night via Windows 7 Enterpclimb x86_64. Creating the layout from VMware Converter worked choose a charm, however powering up the VM in Fedora 19 left me in the same spot. I believed this was a Linux xkeymap concern, however after ultimately logging in through the on-screen keyboard and also looking at the device tree and noting the error via the PS/2 key-board driver, I uncovered the solution.

There's a setting inside the Windows regisattempt that needs to be altered for USB key-board gadgets. Please check out https://neighborhoods.vmware.com/thread/448048?start=0&tstart=0 for even more indevelopment.

Essentially:

log right into the VM via the on-display keyboard

begin -> run -> regedit

UpperFilters - remove all but the kbdcourse value

Hkey_Local_MachineSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass4D36E96F-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

UpperFilters - remove all yet the mouclass value

close regedit

restart

I was simply acquiring on here to say I finally got it sorted out as well. I did it via a mix of having actually to RDP to the guest, uninstalling a bunch of Lenovo stuff that persisted even though I did a P2V with it disabled (frustrating) and also then finding all the UpperFilters tricks.
