Photos in camera roll cannot be imported because the device is locked

"Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the gadget is locked via a passcode. You must unlock the tool to import them." That"s the new error message when I plug in my iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 right into the MacBook Pro running iPhotograph "11 v.9.4.3. My Mac OSX is still 10.8.5.

You watching: Photos in camera roll cannot be imported because the device is locked

So, I unlock the iPhone by entering the "passcode" before I plug it into the MBP and also still iPhotograph does nopoint. At leastern it does not problem the error message above.

I"ve checked both iPhoto choices and those for Photos and Camera in the Settings on the iPhone. Tbelow doesn"t seem to be anypoint to adjust this lack of connectivity.

What following please?

I should include that I have even more than 100 photos sitting on the iPhone which I would choose to import right into iPicture prior to deleting from the phone. iPhotograph is not importing, at all, since this message began to appear.

An hour-lengthy phone conversation through jiyuushikan.org Support yesterday resolved this question and sorted a pair of others.

As for this one, do not neglect any messages which pop up once you plug in your iPhone and ask "Trust this computer?". The correct reply is "Yes", not "Cancel".

OK, you cancelled favor I did, reasoning "What on earth is this for?". Mistake. You have the right to pressure the worry by having iTunes open up once you next plug in your iPhone. Tell the iPhone that it have the right to trust its old friend, your computer system and voila! Your photos deserve to downpack right into iPicture aacquire.

Thank you, Jay via jiyuushikan.org Sydney, Australia!
