Itunes add folder to library nothing happens

I"m trying to add an AAC file from my desktop computer to my iTunes library so that I deserve to sync it through my phone. When I go to "Add To Library," pick the file, and click "Open", nothing happens. The song isn"t loaded right into iTunes--not the library, and also not the "now playing" section.

My library is situated on an external drive that is placed, working appropriately, and that I have read & compose pergoals on. I have actually tried rebeginning my computer.

This is really, really frustrating.

Chris,

Drag the file into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, which have the right to be discovered in your iTunes Media folder.

You watching: Itunes add folder to library nothing happens

If it is a valid AAC file it will be included to your library. if not, it will be put in the "Not Added" folder.

Sometimes tracks do not contain metadata such as names. Look in your Recently Added folder.

Try the technique ed has provided. If there is a factor why iTunes cannot import the file you won"t get any kind of error message, yet if it is moved into Not Added that will confirm there is a problem via the resource file.

Thanks, males.

Looks like there was definitely a difficulty with the AAC file. I exported the very same item of audio and did it as a .wav, and iTunes imported that via no problems.
