I"m building a phased arrangement in Revit 2013. All my existing doors, wall surfaces, and so on that are being demolimelted are showing up fine in the demo plan-- daburned. Though, I would like the cuts for brand-new doors in existing wall surfaces to present up daburned. That is, I would certainly choose the new reduced to display up dashed. So far, they carry out not. I deserve to watch the infill Help has been little aid and I haven"t uncovered any tutorials that address this concern.

You are watching: How to get my existing walls to show up in my previous + demo view

The specifics are:

Wall surface is; Phase created: Existing, Phased demoed: None.

Door is; Phase created: New Construction, Phase Demoed: None.

Existing Plan; Filter: Show All, Phase: Existing

Demo Plan; Filter: Previous + Demo, Phase: Demo

Proposed Plan; Filter: Previous + New, Phase: New Construction.

There"s a pdf attached via the location in question bubbled in the Existing, Demo, and New Construction phases (Counterclockwise from top left)

Any assist would be appreciated. Thanks.

It looks like you are making use of a demo phase. Many world you talk to will tell you that demo is not a phase. If you decide to use a demo phase you have to use a couple of watch filters to obtain some infill walls, doors and also windows to present appropriately in demo and also proposed views. Add a project instance parameter to doors, windows, walls, and so on categories. Give your infill wall a worth of "demo." Use a view filter in your demo arrangement to override the infill wall so it graphically shows as demo.Hope that helps.Edited on: Wed, May 22, 2013 at 8:46:26 AM

You do not demo in existing phase, demo in new.

Thanks for your responses. I have a few questions:

dingwarm. Are you referring to the "Sjust how Previous + Demo" Phase Filter? The infill wall for the brand-new door to be included in the New Phase

duarte & WWHUB: If I don"t do a demo phase, to what phase must my demo plans be set?

WWHUB, the door in question is not being demolished. It"s a brand-new door. If I demo things in the "New" phase, I"m not certain how I would get my demo arrangement to present up accurately.

Finally, I expect I have actually a different understanding of functioning with phases. duarte, have the right to you suggest a tutorial that defines your method. The one"s I"ve checked out have actually directed me to the method I have actually in area.

Thanks!

View phase settings and also see name are 2 different points. We demo in brand-new and also our demo arrangement shows properly as our new plan does. See attached.

Gotcha. I wasn"t confused about the differnce in between phase settings and view name...however thanks for clarifying

I was puzzled around just how I would develop a demo arrangement through no demo phase. I messed approximately a little and also figured it out:

Demo and also brand-new building both take place in the "New Construction" phase, as you all have actually stated...and phase filters

adjust based upon the see (Sexactly how Previous + Demo for demo and Sjust how Previous + New for proposed).

Thanks aget for your assist.
