Desktop is not accessible windows 10

Windows 10 laptop, user reported it was doing update the various other night and once it rebooted, he signed in, desktop is black, icons gone, etc.

You watching: Desktop is not accessible windows 10

First error is the one in the title.

Opening job manager, and also trying to start explorer and control panel yields error "an effort was made to referral a token that does not exist"

Ideas? Rekeep point doesn"t work, safe mode is no better - yet tbelow are a few icons on the desktop computer, but not his complete collection. Which is weird. Roll back to previous version didn"t work either.

I"ve review several threads about a comparable problem with location not accessible, however this is not the same I don"t think.

This has actually been a recurring design template via win 10 updates. See if this helps:

Create bootable iso through the media production tool, then boot into home windows.. Open up task manager and browse to powershell and then run task as administrator

Go to the iso and manually run setup.exe for the home windows upgrade to start again.

This has actually happened to me a number of times these last 2 weeks. I suspect it"s in the middle of updays.

I hope this helps you - Win10 is so fickle.

My fix -

Try signing in as another normal user to check out if you have a corrupted profile.

If ok - Next -

Disaffix the Lappeak from the domain - and also turn off the wireless if you have an external switch.

I rebooted many type of times in safe mode leaving it on and also not addressing the error message nor logging into the computer, after around 1 hour I would certainly reboot aobtain over and over. I think the updates have to finish in the local admin profile. The "Downloaded" Updays have to install.

Once it was finish I signed in as neighborhood admin, still off the network, and reinstalled the video and also nic chauffeurs.

Then attach the computer system earlier to the netoccupational and also authorize in as a normal user.

If this does not work

try -

Removing and also then rejoining the computer system earlier to the domajor.

A bit fyi to add on to this thcheck out, same computer would certainly not update to 1903 - repetitive failures after resetting updates manually, trying from usb, etc. Finally came earlier to a bad profile with .bak in the registry. I"m betting it was caused/developed by this original concern.
